Export Promotion

Since 1993 PFI has sponsored export promotion activities by participating in USDA's Market Access Program. PFI conducts market research to identify foreign market trends and opportunities for U.S. pet food makers, builds demand for U.S. pet food abroad by educating pet owners about the importance of nutrition for cats and dogs, works to ensure that U.S. pet food makers have and maintain access to foreign markets.

In 2012 the PFI Market Access Program is operating programs in China, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, Taiwan and four countries in Central America (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala and Panama).
