A Note from the Pet Food Institute CEO During the COVID-19 Pandemic

While we all may feel uncertain during this COVID-19 pandemic, please know that we are in this together. The Pet Food Institute (PFI) is working hard with our members and stakeholders in the food and retail sectors to ensure that pet lovers have continued access to your pets’ favorite pet food. As states and localities continue to determine which businesses can stay open as essential operations, we are dedicated to helping keep pet food operations running as smoothly as possible and allowing for pet businesses, including retailers, to safely remain open so that you can find pet food on the store shelves.

For those who are home with their dog or cat, please take some extra moments to enjoy the time with your pet. Pet lovers know that the human-animal bond provides so many benefits, and can help us manage the stress and loneliness during social distancing. Nothing like a pet can bring a smile to your face even when this global pandemic feels so overwhelmingly difficult.

PFI has a webpage sharing information and resources from our association and the broader pet care community as we work together for you and your pets. We also have a Q&A with information about what pet food and treat makers are doing to remain hard at work during the COVID-19 pandemic. I’m confident that we will get through this uncertain time together.

Wishing you and your family safety and health,

Dana Brooks
