PFI Announces 2023 Board Officers

WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 9, 2023) – The Pet Food Institute (PFI), whose members make the vast majority of dog and cat food and treats in the United States, announced its 2023 board officers, including a new chair.  

“We are excited about our 2023 board officers, who will each bring diverse experience and expertise to Pet Food Institute’s Board,” said Dana Brooks, Pet Food Institute (PFI) President & CEO. “These board members will work diligently to represent the interests of all pet food makers, who work hard every day to produce safe, nutritious pet food for America’s pets.” 

The 2023 chair will be Nestlé Purina PetCare North America President and CEO Nina Leigh Krueger. Krueger has been with Purina for 30 years, and most recently served as the PFI Board Vice Chair.  

“I look forward to working with fellow Board officers and members to further our shared commitment to help pets live long, healthy lives and strengthen the human-pet bond,” Krueger said. “Collaboration and transparency are cornerstones of PFI’s mission and critical as we work together to earn the trust of pet parents every day.”

Nina Leigh Krueger, president and CEO of Nestlé Purina PetCare North America, Chair 

Scott Salmon, president of Simmons Pet Food Inc., Vice Chair 

Nicki Baty, president of Hill’s Pet Nutrition U.S., Secretary 

Rod Troni, global chief marketing officer of Champion Petfoods, Treasurer 

Scott Morris, president and CEO of Freshpet, Personnel Officer
